The Meaning of Handmade
When I say that Sweet Butter Leather Goods are handmade, I think it's important to define what that means to me.
Each bag is hand cut using a very sharp blade or rotary cutter, a straight edge, a steady hand and a lot of arm strength.
Each bag is hand punched using a stitching chisel and a poly mallet. My kids hate this part because it's pretty loud but I love hammering along the straight line marked with a stitching groover.
Each bag is hand stitched with two needles, two hands and waxed thread. That's it. No machines.
I believe this makes my bags beautiful, durable lifelong investments. There is a lot of time and attention-to-detail spent on each one.

One-of-a-kind
Each of my leather goods is created from leather that may have natural markings. I try to use as much of a hide as possible and will try to work around these markings if I can. However, some people may think this looks like a flaw, to me these things give character to my leather bags and make them truly one-of-a-kind.

All natural
Leather is a natural material, so please be aware that each bag may have slight variations in texture and color. But know that your bag will be beautiful and durable in all of it's handcrafted splendor.

My Journey
I come from a long line of creators . . . houses, furniture, recipes, and art. It is in my blood to value quality, detail and craftsmanship. Purses are in my earliest family photos, posing by a birthday cake or making sure my new purse was appropriately modeled at Christmas. Dreams of creating purses grew as I did. After being married and having kids I became the family manager . . . the best job ever! The purse-idea file grew but remained in the drawer. Until now. I pulled that file out and learned how to make the bags and purses by hand.
Only high-quality materials are used to create these one-of-a-kind bags and bracelets. I am grateful for the opportunity to make them. It feeds my soul.
